What?? No Templates or Images?

With Cardia we unleash your imagination

With Cardia there are no images or templates included with the app. There’s a good reason for that!

Late one night while designing the app, we reached the step of choosing templates and images to include with Cardia. Then it dawned on us: why not let users select content from the internet that interests them, along with their own photos, paintings, and drawings?

We think you might have experienced something like the following with other card making apps - you spend hours and hours and hours trying to find the right images and themes to use to make a card - you just can’t find what you want. It’s like spending half your evening trying to find a movie to watch on Netflix. But with Cardia you can use the internet that has billions of pictures and millions of themes. Cardia’s drag and drop interface makes it simple - and one of the best parts is all of your cards will be originals. No chance of anyone sending a card with the same overused themes and images.

Images

Let’s say you want to make a birthday card that has dinosaurs. In your browser just Google “dinosaur clip art”. When the search returns press the “images” button just underneath the search bar in the browser and there are a million dinosaurs to choose from. In most cases all you have to do is drag that image over and drop it on a card side. From there you can move it around, resize it, rotate it, give it a shadow etc. And of course you can always drag and drop your own images and artwork straight from your hard drive and also from many other applications that support drag and drop. No more dealing with the same low resolution images over and over.

Themes

If you want some themes to get started - Google something like "free birthday greeting card themes”. The first thing that comes up is a selection of free themes! Again, just take those and drop them on your card. You will be an expert at this in no time - and you have an infinite selection of art.

Using AI to Generate Cards

Here’s another incredible idea - using AI to generate an image. If you have not experimented with some of the AI chatbots - they are amazing. You can make one of a kind clever cards in minutes. You might have to make a free account for some of the chatbots but once you do your creativity will be endless and you can make images all day long. You can use any of the chatbots - our favorites are Grok and ChatGPT.

You can use something like this prompt to create an image with a chatbot:

create a monkey sitting on a bench with a megaphone and written on the megaphone are the words "happy birthday”

And here is what it came up with:

All you have to do is drag the generated images from your browser over to a card face in Cardia and add some text and off you go! No one has that card!

Here’s another one - this one generates a Valentines Day card:

create the front of a valentines day card with one dinosaur giving another dinosaur a heart and have the text "Happy Valentines Day" written on the card.

And here is what it came up with:

Again all you have to do is drag this image over from your browser to a card face and off you go! No one else has that card!

Now you have an original card exactly like you want. You can come up with all kinds of details - change the background color by just saying “and put them on a blue background”. Change the color of the dinosaurs "make one dinosaur red and the other dinosaur blue". These are just simple prompts for the chatbots. You can get as complex and detailed as you want with these.

These are just a few of the things you can do to build your cards with Cardia. If you would like to see the documentation for Cardia it's right here: Using Cardia

We plan to keep doing regular updates to Cardia until the cows come home. As soon as Apple announces a new operating system, we start testing to make sure there are no problems at all. At Addison Software, we only write software for Apple's computers - none of that Windows stuff.
